This article dwells on the case study of José Rosado, a fake translator his own books to Portuguese (never written in any other language), and interaction between 1942 1957 with Romano Torres, twentieth century publishing house, within crime fiction collection Grandes Mistérios, Aventuras [Great Mysteries, Great Adventures]. Exploring Rosado’s relationship publisher, centered process authorial invention foreign books, draws attention manifold processes involved creation translated texts—or idea text—as literary agency.
